Telangana NEET PG state counselling

KNRUHS fills convener seats only with Telangana locals who did MBBS in Telangana (or at Siddhartha, Vijayawada). The costliest mistake is skipping Phase 1 web options, which bars you from every later phase.

How many government seats the state fills

No state publishes this number, so here is how it is built. NMC’s register records the sanctioned PG intake of each government college; MCC’s results record how many of those seats went through the All India Quota. What is left is the state quota — what KNRUHS itself allots.

A derived figure. It covers the government colleges NMC’s register could be matched to, so the true state quota is a little larger. Private and deemed colleges are not in it; their seats are counselled under the state’s private, management and NRI rules described below.

Who can apply

  • Competent Authority Quota: local candidates only (four consecutive years of study in Telangana up to the qualifying exam); candidates from other states are not eligible.
  • MBBS must be from a Telangana institution or Siddhartha Medical College, Vijayawada, with permanent Telangana State Medical Council registration.
  • The 2025-26 prospectus excludes those admitted to MBBS under Telangana's non-local quota from local status (G.O.Ms.148, 28-10-2024).
  • The High Court struck that clause down for 2024-25 (17-12-2024) and the Supreme Court refused a stay; 2025-26 allotments were declared subject to the pending cases.
  • Management quota MQ-1 (25% of private-college seats) is open to candidates from all states; MQ-2 is NRI and MQ-3 institutional.
  • Muslim Minority candidates alone may take convener seats in minority colleges.
Seat typeHow it works
Competent Authority Quota, government colleges and NIMSSeats left after the All India Quota contribution, for Telangana locals on NEET PG rank.

MQ-1 (25%)Management seats in private colleges open to candidates from all states and UTs; no reservation.

How the process runs

  2. KNRUHS publishes provisional and final merit lists, with addendums for later-verified candidates.
  3. Exercise web options in Phase 1; there is no limit on the number of options.
  4. Pay the Rs 29,600 university fee, download the allotment letter, report to the college with originals and bonds.
  5. Phase 2, mop-up, additional mop-up and stray-vacancy phases follow; free-exit windows are notified between phases.
  6. Management quota is a separate application and separate phases.

What costs candidates seats here

Not exercising web options in Phase 1 makes you ineligible for every later phase.
Taking an allotted seat and not joining bars you from subsequent rounds.
Discontinuing after the free-exit deadline costs Rs 50 lakh and a three-year bar from KNRUHS PG counselling.
MBBS outside Telangana (other than Siddhartha, Vijayawada) rules you out of convener seats; only MQ-1 management seats remain.
