MD/MS, DNB or diploma?
Choose the qualification first, then compare the exact college, branch, quota, category and round.
NBEMS lists MD/MS, PG diploma, post-MBBS DNB, direct six-year DrNB and NBEMS diploma under NEET PG. Post-diploma DNB admission uses a separate DNB-PDCET route; those ranks are not interchangeable with NEET PG ranks. NBEMS examination overview, p. 6.
MD / MS
Medical-college postgraduate degree courses: Doctor of Medicine / Master of Surgery. Compare each branch and college separately. The predictor includes the combined MD/MS obstetrics and gynaecology label here.
Explore these seats →DNB · 3 years
Diplomate of National Board: a postgraduate qualification awarded by NBEMS, not a diploma. This option covers post-MBBS three-year broad-specialty DNB courses.
Explore these seats →NBEMS diploma · 2 years
A separate two-year post-MBBS qualification awarded by NBEMS. These seats do exist in NEET PG counselling. Our source data formerly called them ‘DNB Diploma’; the candidate-facing label is now NBEMS diploma.
Explore these seats →PG diploma
Other postgraduate medical diploma courses recorded in MCC allotments, separate from NBEMS diplomas. Availability depends on the institution, specialty and session; a historical allotment does not establish a current intake.
Explore these seats →Direct 6-year DrNB
Direct six-year DrNB courses entered after MBBS through NEET PG. These are separated from three-year DNB, even where historical MCC course labels use NBEMS/DNB. This option does not include post-MD/MS NEET-SS courses.

Other qualifications retained in this dataset, including MCh and MPH labels. Read the exact course and current admission notice; we do not infer duration or equivalence from an abbreviated degree label.
Explore these seats →What does “DNB quota” mean?
It is the counselling bucket recorded in MCC results, not a degree or a caste reservation. In our data it contains both DNB and NBEMS diploma courses. The qualification selector separates those; the quota filter narrows the counselling bucket. Open/OBC/SC/ST/EWS and PwD are a different dimension again.
A lower or higher closing rank measures that particular allotment, not whether two qualifications are interchangeable. Training, assessment, hospital exposure and eligibility for later teaching or super-specialty posts need separate checks against current rules.

- Fees are college/course/session specific. Tuition, university charges, refundable security, accommodation and withdrawal bonds have different meanings.
- Basic pay, gross stipend and take-home pay differ. Allowances, hostel allocation and deductions can change the amount received.
- NBEMS policy floors are shown separately from verified hospital payments. The June 2025 notice specifies ₹43,000, ₹45,000 and ₹47,000 per month for the three DNB training years, with higher applicable government basic stipend taking precedence. These figures do not prove a hospital’s actual payment. Official stipend notice, pp. 143–145.
- We show the publication/effective period beside each figure. “Not verified” means no adequately scoped source is loaded, never zero fees or zero stipend.
Institution-specific financial coverage is still limited. Government colleges are the research priority; national NBEMS policies also cover applicable private training hospitals. We do not fill gaps using another college’s fees.
