About Rank Predictor

Counselling runs on rank. Every seat a counselling authority allots is published, with the rank that got it, in reports that are public but long, unsearchable and spread across rounds and years. Rank Predictor reads all of them and asks one question of each seat: given this rank, this category and this quota, how likely is a seat like this to come through? The answer is a list ordered so the most competitive seat still within reach comes first — the order you need when filling a preference list.

The first exam covered is NEET PG, through the Medical Counselling Committee’s All India Quota, DNB, deemed and central university rounds. The predictor, the college directory and the API are exam-agnostic, and more streams are being added.

Every figure on this site traces to a published document. Closing ranks and seat counts are parsed from the allotment result PDFs the Medical Counselling Committee releases after each round — currently 1,46,196 allotments across 2,167 colleges and 100 courses, 2022–2025. Sanctioned intake comes from the National Medical Commission’s College and Course Search. Nothing is sampled, transcribed by hand or estimated where a published number exists, and a report that cannot be parsed in full fails the build rather than becoming a phantom college.

The projection from last year’s closing rank to this year’s, and the confidence attached to it, are fitted from the data and checked against held-out years. The methodology page walks through every step, including the ones that are weaker than we would like.

Nothing. There is no sign-up, no login, no payment tier and no advertising. Your rank and score are used to compute a result and are not stored — see the privacy page for exactly what the site does and does not collect.

Rank Predictor is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Medical Counselling Committee, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, the National Medical Commission or any state counselling authority. A prediction is a statistical estimate from past results, not a guarantee of a seat: always confirm against the official counselling portal before you act on it.

If a figure here disagrees with a published result, we want to know, and we will correct it. The same goes for a college or course you cannot find, or a prediction that looks wrong for a reason you can explain.
