Gujarat NEET PG state counselling

ACPPGMEC allots every non-AIQ MD/MS/Diploma seat in Gujarat (government, management and NRI) through one online merit-based process with mandatory document verification at help centres. Candidates often miss that out-of-state MBBS graduates need Gujarat schooling plus birth or domicile.

How many government seats the state fills

No state publishes this number, so here is how it is built. NMC’s register records the sanctioned PG intake of each government college; MCC’s results record how many of those seats went through the All India Quota. What is left is the state quota — what ACPPGMEC Gujarat itself allots.

A derived figure. It covers the government colleges NMC’s register could be matched to, so the true state quota is a little larger. Private and deemed colleges are not in it; their seats are counselled under the state’s private, management and NRI rules described below.

Who can apply

  • MBBS from a university established under Gujarat law and situated in Gujarat, or
  • MBBS from elsewhere in India or abroad (meeting NMC criteria) plus Class 12 Science (B or AB group) from a Gujarat school or Gujarat board, and born in or domiciled in Gujarat.
  • Internship completed by 31 July 2025 for the 2025-26 session; by 30 September 2026 for 2026-27.
  • NRI seats: NRIs or their children/wards who qualify NEET-PG; Rs 25,000 processing fee and verification at the Gandhinagar office only.
  • SC/ST/SEBC reservation applies only to castes recognised in Gujarat, not to migrants from other states.
  • No fetched ACPPGMEC document refers to Tanvi Behl v. Shrey Goel; the 2026-27 criteria still include the birth/domicile condition for out-of-state MBBS graduates.
Seat typeHow it works

PwD5% of available seats in each category in government and grant-in-aid colleges.

Keep ready: All MBBS mark sheets (attempt-wise) and NEET-PG mark sheet; Internship completion certificate (by the session's cut-off date); Provisional or permanent medical council registration; School leaving/transfer certificate showing birth date, birthplace and citizenship (birth certificate or passport if birthplace missing); Out-of-state MBBS: Class 12 mark sheet and, if born outside Gujarat, Gujarat domicile certificate; If applicable: Gujarat-issued caste, SEBC non-creamy layer and EWS certificates within date window, disability certificate, in-service NOC.

What costs candidates seats here

Caste, non-creamy-layer and EWS certificates must be issued by Gujarat authorities within specified issue-date windows; others are not accepted.
Registration is incomplete until originals are verified at a help centre; without the stamped slip you cannot take part.
Being allotted in Round 2 and not confirming forfeits the Rs 25,000 deposit and removes you from the merit list.
A Round 3 admission cannot be cancelled and bars all later AIQ and state rounds.
Government-college seats carry a Rs 40 lakh rural-service bond; check this before choosing over a self-financed seat.
