Closing ranks: actual vs estimate

All India Quota · Open · AIR, not category rank.

— means unavailable. A blank means no matching allotment is recorded for this exact seat. Estimates use the latest exact-round cutoff and historical error ranges; sanctioned intake does not adjust them. 2024 closed at 4,044; 2025 closed at 2,395. Recency-weighted exact-seat history anchors the estimate. 2025 or 2026 NMC sanctioned seats unavailable for this branch, so no seat adjustment. Model and held-out validation.

Seat matrices, with comparable units

For participating state government MD/MS/PG diploma seats, the indicative AIQ share is 50% of full sanctioned intake, across all categories. Odd totals need MCC’s allocation/roster; category and PwD splits are not inferred. Central/institutional, deemed and DNB pools have separate rules.

2024 → 2025 initial MCC snapshots: 8 → 6 seats (-2). Same college, course, quota and category. This snapshot difference is not a 2026 forecast or proof of newly approved seats.

Full-intake changes can inform a 50% AIQ planning estimate where applicable; exact category/round changes require the 2026 MCC matrix. MCC availability and NMC all-quota capacity are different measures. The 2026 NMC snapshot excludes pending increases/new approvals; current MCC availability is not supplied.
